OUR STORY

LIVE TODAY, LOVE MY LIFE

Designing serenity for your daily rituals.

Life is not made up only of dramatic moments. It is the accumulation of ordinary "todays" that truly defines who we are. I believe that to love your day is to love your life.

However, for a long time, I found myself unable to live by this truth.

The Relentless Rhythm of Tokyo

In my former life in Tokyo, I lived in a cycle of "doing" rather than "being." My days were governed by a relentless momentum—a high-velocity blur of deadlines and obligations that left no room for silence. Constantly racing to stay ahead, I managed the delicate balance of a career and motherhood, but in the process, I slowly lost sight of the woman I used to be. I mistook this breathless pace for living, unaware that I was simply surviving my own checklists.

In those days, the dream I held before marriage—of living beneath a different sky and experiencing the world—had quietly faded into the background noise. I was a passenger in my own story, waiting for a "someday" that felt increasingly out of reach.

A Heartbreaking Awakening The turning point came with a sudden, heartbreaking goodbye. The passing of my dear friend shattered the illusion of "having enough time." It was a visceral reminder that life does not wait for my "someday."

Driven by this realization, I chose to stop waiting. I chose to take the wheel of my own life. This path led me to move to the Netherlands—to finally begin living the life I had only imagined.

A Gateway to Authentic Modern Craft Moving to the Netherlands gave me the distance to see my home country through new eyes. Often, the Japanese goods I encountered in Europe felt "kitsch"—cluttered, souvenir-style items reminiscent of a crowded tourist shop. To me, it felt like a missed opportunity. I knew that there were so many sophisticated, modern pieces—the ones that we in Japan truly love and use in our daily lives—that remained unknown to the people of Europe.

I wanted to share the "now" of authentic Japanese craft: objects where the wisdom of generations is transformed into refined, contemporary design. From the incense of Awaji Island and the delicate glassware of Osaka to the refined lacquerware of Kyoto and the evocative scents of Kyushu, I curate pieces that embody rebirth and resilience. I founded De Ma Chambre to be a bridge, celebrating the alchemy that happens when timeless handiwork meets a mindful, modern aesthetic.

Not Just a Way of Living De Ma Chambre translates to "From My Room." It is born from the belief that whether you have had a day of joy or a day of tears, the room you return to should be a sanctuary—a place to face your unadorned self, to heal, and to find balance.

Like brewing your morning coffee or opening a book after a bath, lighting our candles is a simple ritual that validates your "today." Our collection is handcrafted in the Netherlands using 100% natural soy wax and essences that capture the iconic landscapes of Kyushu.

These are not just objects; they are small gateways designed to help you pause, breathe, and remember that you are the driver of your own destiny.

May your daily ritual become an act of love for your life. Let’s design your sanctuary, starting from your room.

Live today, Love my life.
