AME NO SHITA glass plate - blue gray

Designed by a Japanese design studio "wa/ter" and handcrafted in Japan.

This is  from wa/ter's “Re-use - Recycling” series that transforms ordinary objects and converts them into beautiful design objects for the home. 

This piece was inspired by a shape of reminiscent of a single drop of water resting on a leaf. The name, AME NO SHITA, inspired by the Japanese character for "drop /shizuku" (雫), which shows under the rain.

Recycled Glass from CRT TV screens

As time moves forward, CRT TVs have faded into obscurity. This piece is crafted from the glass of old TV screens, giving new life to a once-forgotten material. Through a meticulous process of purifying, melting, and reshaping, the glass is reborn in a soothing blue-gray color—a transformation that blends history with modern elegance.
